Why We Celebrate MahaShivratri?

Mahashivratri That means “The Great Night Of Shiva”. Maha Shivaratri is an annual festival dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva. Where most Hindu festivals which include expression of cultural revelry, The Mahashivratri is a Festival that basically known for fasting, meditation on shiva, self study, social harmony and for all night devotee at shiva temples.

Mahashivratri is a festival of togetherness, jagaran. It is a Hindu festival which is celebrated by people following Hinduism in India. It is believed that the people who fast on this night and offer prayers to Lord Shiva bring good luck into their life.The most popular Maha Shivratri celebrations take place in Ujjain, believed to be the place of residence of Lord Shiva. Large processions are carried out throughout the city.

According to devotee, Shivratri is also known as That Shiva saved the world during samudra manthan, he Drunk the Pot which is full of poison and stored it in his throat – which made his throat turn blue (He is also known as Neelkanth).
